About Company:

Startup company focused on building diagnostic apps in the psychiatric world.  Founded by a Vancouver based psychiatrist.

Project Description:

A small team of interns is to work with an academic psychiatrist to create/prototype a mobile based expert system for psychiatric diagnosis.  Validation of methods and construct validity of diagnostic system against good standard interviews. Iterate and optimize. 

Background and required skills

Research Objectives/Sub-Objectives:

  • Investigate/review literature on expert / recommendation systems for diagnosis
  • Design & prototype a mobile application for psychiatric diagnosis
  • Evaluate and update the platform based on user feedback
  • Validate the diagnostic system 

Methodology:

  • To be determined with interns/researchers
  • An existing paper based diagnostic system is to be used as the starting point for the mobile expert system
  • Weekly iterative project updates and new features based on user feedback and working with the project lead 

Expertise and Skills Needed:

  • Computer science (AI/Expert Systems/Reasoning & Recommendation)
  • Statistical expertise
  • Full stack development skills
