We are also fixated on how much fat we have and where we store it, whether it is around our stomachs or around our hips and thighs. Ericsson Ottawa develops cellular base stations that are components of cellular networks marketed by Ericsson. The base stations serve as the interfaces between mobile devices (cell phones) to wired networks and the internet. These network products require high reliability and availability, which results in the need to perform extensive testing on expensive hardware, replicating complex customer network environments. Some tests are expensive, needing to be run for days, while others take seconds.
Video contents and applications become integrated in everyday life and demands for high-quality videos, such as 4K, are increasing. Even modern optical equipment introduces inevitable noises that may heavily mask video content. Environment conditions such as low light, results in more video quality degradation. Therefore, a video-enhancement technique is required to reconstruct the original non-noisy video, but such algorithms require extensive processing resources to reach a reasonable (real-time) performance and power consumption.

Because mathematics is such a vast field, typical application functions such as search, manipulation, and inference, frequently return irrelevant results. The search process can be facilitated through the use of semantically structured resource stores.

Elaine Dong, a Computer Science intern from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China, has found her inner dancer — figuratively and literally — in Montreal as she contributes to research on fuel efficient air traffic management this summer.
In this project, the intern will develop a website for medical clinics. This website provides patients with an online price estimation service which automatically caculates the price for conducting a set of lab analysises precribed by a doctor. The website will intuitively guide patients through the price estimation process and intelligently help patients match non-standardized test abbreviations and codes in their requisition forms with the laboratorys standard ontology.
This project will review water source alternatives for the Husky Lloydminster Upgrader Complex. These alternatives will be evaluating in terms of their relative economic, technical, social and environmental risks. The framework developed will provide a basis for conducting similar water risk assessments for other operations. The interns will research alternatives, risks, and develop the assessment framework.
