| Network Security and Cryptography |
|
Network security involves a set of actions adopted to detect as well as prevent unauthorized usage of the primary networking infrastructure for illegal activities. Cryptography has been instrumental in developing new methodologies to enable secure infrastructures. The interaction between cryptography and network security has been of critical importance in developing robust new techniques that integrate into the network fabric to ensure accountability, confidentiality, integrity, and protection against external and internal threats such as denial of service attacks, worms, Trojans, and botnets.
