Mitacs offers a suite of research and training programs which enable companies to connect with top Canadian and international researchers: 

 

Mitacs-Accelerate

This program gives Canadian companies a competitive advantage by connecting the with high-quality research expertise. Through Mitacs-Accelerate, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows from over 50 universities apply their specialized expertise to business research challenges. Armed with the very latest tools, techniques, and innovations, the intern (a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow) brings a new perspective to the problem faced by the industry partner. For each 4 month project, both Mitacs and the company partner contribute $7,500. Elevate

Elevate gives companies access to a highly-qualified, unique pool of talent - new PhDs. Currently piloting in Ontario and British Columbia, Elevate Fellows undertake a major industrial research project that is co-funded by Mitacs and a partner company. Globalink

 This program, which introduces Canada as a world-leading innovation destination to top international undergraduate students, provides companies with the opportunity to showcase their organization's research and technology and connect with potential future employees. Canadian companies are invited to take part in a four-day industry conference (occurring in June/July 2011 across Canada) and host a tour of their facilities, sponsor a social event, share their story over a lunch or participate in a networking event. Outreach

Mitacs is seeking partnerships with the Canadian business community to expand the delivery of our core education outreach initiatives, Show Math and MathAmaze. Show Math is a live action, multimedia stage production demonstrating that that mathematics is everywhere—from history to nature to music, art and technology. MathAmaze (Math en jeu) is a free, web game which allows kids to play at math¬ematics.  For more information about partnering with Mitacs on these cutting-edge initiatives and more, contact outreach@mitacs.ca.

Enterprise drop-down (Eng)

Enterprise is a comprehensive, career-development program that gives graduates of science, technology, engineering and math the opportunity to build their business skills through an intense program of mentorship and work experience with small and medium-sized companies.



Step drop-down (Eng)

Canada’s only comprehensive program providing business-ready skills to up-and-coming researchers. Step trains graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in essential interpersonal, project management and entrepreneurial skills required for them to succeed in their future career.
