About Mitacs Globalink

Since 2009, Mitacs has matched over 2,000 senior undergraduates with Canadian faculty through its flagship Globalink Research Internships initiative. To further strengthen international research collaborations, Mitacs Globalink now offers two-way mobility opportunities between Canada and Mitacs partner countries for both undergraduate and graduate students. The program promotes Canada as a top destination for research opportunities and showcases Canadian research expertise around the world.

Globalink Research Internships

Globalink Research Internships provide an intensive program of activities to international undergraduate students during a 12-week (May–September) research internship at Canadian universities.

Globalink Graduate Fellowships

The Globalink Graduate Fellowship provides financial support to former Globalink Research Interns to return to Canada for graduate studies at select Mitacs university partners.

Globalink Research Award

The Mitacs Globalink Research Award provides funding to support senior undergraduate and graduate student research projects abroad.

Accelerate International

Accelerate International offers graduate students the opportunity to participate in a 16- to 24-week research project with an international industry partner.

Mitacs Globalink provided me a unique experience, where I could combine professional experience in a great research group at Carleton University with knowledge of a new country, new cultures and people from different countries. I reached the professional and personal improvement that I hoped for when I applied.

— Bruna Rodrigues, Globalink Research Intern, Carleton University

One of the main strengths of Mitacs Globalink is it helps create a public awareness of how strong Canada is in research that’s globally relevant.

— John Sensinger, Associate director of Institute of Biomedical Engineering, University of New Brunswick

Mitacs would like to thank the Government of Canada, along with the Government of Alberta, the Government of British Columbia, Research Manitoba, and the Government of Saskatchewan for their support of Mitacs Globalink.
