Mitacs announces the launch of its Academic Partnership Strategy

Vancouver, B.C. – February 29, 2012 – Mitacs is formalizing the important role that Canada’s universities play in its programs by announcing the creation of an Academic Partnership Strategy. 

This new strategy will ensure that university objectives are accurately reflected in Mitacs strategies and that they have the opportunity to explore pilot programs and new initiatives of interest to both the academic and industry communities.  Universities will join the Full, Associate, Affiliate or Honorary partner level and experience differing levels of engagement with Mitacs.

Mitacs is a national not-for profit organization that offers a suite of research and training programs for students at Canadian universities. These programs, which compliment the university education and training, are designed to develop the next generation of Canadian innovators with vital scientific and business skills and connect Canada’s universities with companies, research organizations and international students and universities. Mitacs business development team works closely with universities to identify innovative research opportunities and partnerships for students and faculty.
