Based in Toronto, Mavennet, is a growing start-up that specializes in blockchain interoperability for enterprises. We are a team that launched Aion, Canada’s largest blockchain, and are now an integral part of the Aion.network ecosystem (Aion is a Toronto-based company with a world-leading public blockchain focused on speed, privacy and interoperability). Our main focus is development of a set of products and services relying on the open source Aion.network stack, allowing for interoperability among private and public blockchains.

Project Description:

Based in Toronto, we are a growing start-up that specializes in blockchain interoperability for enterprises. Our main focus is the development of a set of products and services using the open source Aion.network blockchain stack, allowing for interoperability among private and public blockchains.

We are looking for an exceptional engineering intern with extreme passion to create and develop new solutions end to end in the blockchain space.

This role’s responsibilities include:

  • Research in practical byzantine fault tolerance (pBFT) or honey badger of Pbft or any similar high through put consensus or any other consensus algorithms
  • Conduct research specific to interoperability across multiple blockchain networks
  • Design, prove, and implement core blockchain components
  • Collect and analyze performance matrices, and identify performance bottlenecks for blockchain technologies
  • Design and execute performance benchmarking
  • Research and implement performance optimizations

Research Objectives:

  • Conduct research specific to interoperability across multiple blockchain networks
  • Design, prove, and implement core blockchain components

Expertise and Skills Needed:

  • Strong Java, Javascript, Go, C++ experience
  • Strong research or practical experience in building high performance distributed applications
  • Proficiency with web backend and frontend frameworks such as Node.js, React
  • Proficiency in popular programming languages such as Go, Java, Javascript
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Networking experience: sockets, p2p, multithreading, key-value database
