About the company:

Structured as a non-profit organization, Fintech Cadence provides multiple programs and events for the fintech community across Canada. Our mission is focused on three pillars: educate fintech talent, support early-stage fintech startups and collaborate with stakeholders of the fintech ecosystem to help solve real-life challenges.

Describe the project.:

The goal of this project is to develop a strong academic community with which we can easily interact and communicate news, jobs, and opportunities. We also want to create discussions around fintech to educate and create interest in the fintech ecosystem with students.

The goal of this project is aligned with Fintech Cadence's mission:

  • Firstly, to educate the student community about the impact of technology on the financial sector
  • Secondly, to create collaborations between our fintech ecosystem and the academic community
  • Lastly, to support students interested in entrepreneurship through their innovation journey

The incremental innovation behind this project is to identify and validate two or more communication channels with the academic community in order to optimize and facilitate the sharing of relevant information with this community.

In order to create this community, the intern must develop an outreach strategy on Discord and Slack platforms. The intern must identify students (undergraduate and graduate level) that are studying fields related to fintech (finance, business, tech, etc) or that have demonstrated an interest in a fintech sector via outreach lists and by using social media platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook to convert them to our Discord or Slack platform. The intern will also have to identify relevant information in fintech that has value for the student community and put together a content calendar to maintain engagement on the two media platforms. Finally, the intern must evaluate the engagement on both platforms and if needed, identify other communication channels that can be used to share the news with the student community.
