Describe the project.: 

The goal of the pilot project is to gain knowledge of the existing industry practices and develop implementation blueprints for three piloting schools in Canada, Nigeria, and Trinidad and Tobago that would allow them to:

  1. Enhance the schools’ curriculum and infrastructure with analytics and problem-solving tools
  • Review the existing curricula at all grades and identify opportunities for including critical thinking based on problem solving techniques and use of data analytics in teaching process
  • Develop registry of external analytical and problem-solving tools and sources of data
  • Assess adequacy of the existing IT and software infrastructure and identify gaps against desired upgrades
  • Develop a business case, budget, action plan and a roadmap towards the required infrastructure and skills sets upgrades

2. Embed a critical thinking approach with problem solving and data analytics skills into the teaching process

  • Define metrics of desired analytical and problem-solving skills for teachers and students
  • Assess the existing capabilities of teachers against the desired skills sets
  • Identify external or organize internal training courses for teachers
  • Develop a roadmap for introducing new skills in the teaching process

3. Integrate the schools into the modern educational data analytics and digital ecosystems

  • Identify horizontal and vertical stakeholders of digital/analytics ecosystem and assess opportunities for collaboration
  • Identify existing certification programs and specialized syllabi with analytical and problem-solving content and analyze opportunities for adopting
  • Identify sources of funding for upgrading school’s IT infrastructure and teachers’ skills.
