Projects that are proposed but not yet funded are called "open projects." They are project ideas submitted by businesses who are seeking interns. If you are interested in an open project, confirm your eligibility and ensure you have your academic supervisor's support before applying.
A prospective intern must:
Be a full-time graduate student or postdoctoral fellow at a Canadian university for the entirety of the internship OR be a full-time graduate student or postdoctoral fellow in a Mitacs partner country (visit the Accelerate International tab for more details)
Apply at least six months prior to their planned graduation date
Get approval from the proposed faculty supervisor
