The project involves requirements capture, dataset preparation, machine learning model training, model evaluation, model deployment, and post-deployment technical support and troubleshooting.
The main tasks to be performed by the candidate involve:
Machine learning model development
Engaging with subject matter experts to reason about feature selection, and,
Competencies: The stack we use is jupyter notebooks, Ubuntu terminal, python3, tensorflow/keras, scikit learn, git, json, swagger, postman, and many different machine learning techniques. It would be good to have some experience with Flask, Azure DevOps, and/or AWS. A good understanding of the scientific method will be important, such as test/train splitting, probability, and rejecting the null hypothesis.

Applicants should be well-versed in developing machine learning models in python3. Degrees in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or software engineering are preferred. Some of our employees come from fields such as mathematics and natural sciences with a self-taught or industry-acquired machine learning and software development skillset, and that is also acceptable.
Applicants must pass a brief python3 interview including a machine learning fundamentals component. We test for knowledge of concepts on a programming level (e.g., what is X used for? What is this program doing? Why should I do things this way?).
Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and will need to pass a third-party security screening and police check.
