The Collective Intelligence (CI) team will persevere to make Unilever Data Intelligent, powering key decisions with data, insights, advanced analytics, and AI. Positions

To achieve this we are seeking Data Science researchers to join our team in the areas of Forecasting, Pricing, and Trade Optimization.  

​​These Data Scientist roles sit within the Collective Intelligence group and are part of Unilever Canada Customer Development. CI is responsible for building state-of-the-art advanced analytics products in collaboration with internal and external partners. Typical initiatives include optimizing trade promotion investments, accurately forecasting customer demand, using machine learning to glean insight on consumer trends, providing recommendations on pricing, cannibalization, and product assortment The role will work closely with cross-functional teams, global and NA Data And Analytics function and external partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • With guidance from the Data Science Product Manager, understand business challenges and the planned data science solutions for forecasting
  • Contribute refinements to the plan through your own data science knowledge
  • Prototype experimental solutions, particularly machine learning models
  • Where required, support the build of scaled solutions
  • Facilitate industrialization and ongoing operation of solutions through well-organized code, clear documentation, and collaboration with ML Ops resources
  • Interact with stakeholder teams, clearly communicating relevant data science issues
  • Support your data science peers with technical advice in your areas of expertise
  • Support the growth of CI’s data science capability by contributing to activities such as tool and vendor selection, best practice definition, recruitment, and creation of training materials
  • Build the reputation of CI’s data science capability within Unilever and externally, through activities such as community engagement (e.g. Yammer) and presenting at team meetings
