The project involves the development of an algorithm to generate organic molecules that satisfy desired properties and characteristics defined by a medicinal chemist.
This project considers displacement fluid flows that occur in the primary cementing process in the completion of oil & gas wells. In this process, cement slurry is pumped into the oil well to remove drilling mud, provide zonal isolation and hydraulically seal the well. The results of our research will help design an efficient primary cementing process, which is of crucial importance to the service companies in the oil & gas industry.
Modern machine learning is powered by deep neural networks composed of many interconnected layers of artificial neurons, whose tunable connections learn from data to solve important problems. While this approach has achieved incredible successes in many domains, in practice neural networks act as "black boxes" whose high-level insights are hard to access. Our project will study the use of a promising new family of tensor network models, originally developed for learning high-level structure in complex quantum systems, for capturing the structure of natural languages like French or English.

Electricity producers, distributors, brokers, speculators and industrial consumers participate in these markets to match supply with demand, hedge their exposure to electricity prices and/or profit from dislocations in the price between geographies or time horizons. Accurate price forecasts enable market participants to make better business decisions. BCM Energy is a vertically-integrated electricity distributor and broker in the European markets.
The aim is to have an insight on bubble behaviour in a system that holds a chemical reaction and then to see the direct effect of changing hydrodynamic parameters on the reactor performance. The partner organization will have a protocol to optimize its process by tuning the operating conditions. In addition, the partner organization will have an overview on the effect of solid particles properties on the hydrodynamics and can use this information in the design of new bubble column reactors or in the step of choosing the catalyst.
