Design of a semi-autonomous assistive robot for industrial cleaning tasks

The labor shortage has a significant impact on the Canadian economy, this is particularly increased in the farming and food-processing industries, where manual tasks in harsh condition are frequent. Positions for cleaning tasks are especially difficult to fill and are vital to the to maintain well-functioning operations. An automated approach is considered to offer a solution to these issues. The main objective of the project is to integrate an automated solution through robots to clean in an industrial environment, particularly in the food-processing and farming industries. This proposition will alleviate the issues of labor shortage and generate knowledge in the automation of cleaning and washing tasks in the industrial realm.
