A Feasibility and Safety study of Intratumoral Diffusing Alpha Radiation Emitters for the Treatment of Liver Metastases
There are limited options for patients with metastatic disease and immunotherapies have failed to work. The Alpha DaRT seeds offer the first opportunity for a radiation-based therapy device that has the potential to awaken the body’s immune response. We aim to provide evidence that this treatment option may:
1. elicit an immunological response, thus through treatment of a single liver metastasis, there will be reduction in metastases throughout the remaining liver. This may reduce the risk of future metastases from arising.
2. Allow for the synergistic effect between the DaRT and immunotherapy, which could further improve oncologic outcomes.
