Democratic Decision-Making and Constitutional Stability: A Comparison Between Canada and Brazil

The main objective of this Globalink research project is to conduct a comparative legal analysis of Brazil’s immutable constitutional clauses and Canada’s notwithstanding clause, evaluating how each framework balances democratic decision-making with constitutional stability and the protection of fundamental rights. The research is part of a broader academic initiative and will be a stepping stone for the intern’s future master’s degree in constitutional law, where the findings developed during the internship will serve as a foundation for more in-depth graduate-level work and will contribute to academic and policy discussions in both countries.
