Development of a novel apparatus to study electrostatic charge transfer in single particle-particle collision

This project aims to design a new apparatus and propose a new statistical estimation model for electrostatic charging of insulator particles. It is a joint project between the University of Ottawa and the National Metrology Institute (Physikalish-Technische Bundesanstalt, PTB) in Germany. The research group in both institutions are focused on the electrostatic charging of insulator particles so, completion of this project will be a significant achievement for both research groups. This project will result in journal publications and conference presentations, causing an increase in the international scientific visibility of both research groups and ultimately both University of Ottawa and the PTB.
