This research aims at developing a rapid testosterone test kit using lateral flow assay technology, a technology used for example in routine pregnancy tests, but in a quantitative manner that can inform the user of the exact concentration of analyte in the blood sample. The quantification of the assay will be performed by integrating the lateral flow strip with electrochemical sensors, in a miniaturized portable fashion. The system possesses specifications suitable for large-scale manufacturing targeting a wide range of applications in the health, food, and sport industries. Considering the growing market of LFAs and the attractiveness of testosterone and progesterone testing, in particular quantitatively, the development of this platform can significantly benefit the partner organization, to not only address the needs for such test kits within North America but also around the world. This would markedly grow the organization’s profits and provide great investment opportunities.
