Doctoral students’ satisfaction with supervisor relationships in Canadian public universities: focus on international students

Using Canadian Graduate and Professional Student Survey 2019 responses, the project will examine the extent to which the doctoral students in Canadian public universities are satisfied with their supervisor relationships and guidance, controlling for available demographic and program characteristics. The particular focus will be on the difference in satisfaction between international and domestic students. The study will employ OLS regression with controls and institution fixed effects. The findings will provide valuable insights into how supervisory relationships shape doctoral students’ experiences in Canadian universities, highlighting potential challenges faced by international students.
