The attractive physicochemical, thermal, and mechanical properties of PHAs, combined with their biodegradability and biocompatibility, make them exciting materials that can support an environmentally sustainable circular bioeconomy. In this research project, we plan to develop an extraction and purification process for recovering PHAs from bacteria. The recovered PHAs will be further characterized with a focus on developing sustainable bioplastic materials.
