Integrated Simulation and Optimization of Steam Chamber Growth and Propagation Dynamics during Hybrid Solvent-Enhanced SAGD Processes with Large-Scale Physical Experiments

A series of pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) tests and large-scale physical experiments of the hybrid solvent-enhanced SAGD process will be carried out and simulated to better understand the process physics and bitumen recovery mechanisms, which will help Imperial make reliable predictions with the upscaling potential for quickly commercial field applications. This project will be conducted both in Imperial and University of Regina, with the aim to provide a solid foundation for Imperial to design, simulate, and optimize the hybrid solvent-enhanced SAGD process, and finally make commercial profit.
