Multisensor Integration in Wireless Sensor Networks for Fall Prevention

This project is to develop fall prevention system for long term care facility. The system will consist of many room sensory units, centralized alarm, monitoring, and responding server application, and many mobile monitoring and responding units. The room sensory units will be placed or installed in rooms where the residences are needed to be monitored for fall prevention. The room unit is a multiple sensors integrated sensory system through Zigbee wireless communication protocol to form a wireless sensor network system, which is used to detect motion, to send alarm, to remotely monitoring, and to provide voice response. Any detected motion will be sent via Wi-Fi network and be processed by the server application then be sent to the designated nurse’s mobile unit for the nurse to take proper actions in order to prevent fall.
