This research aims to advance point-of-care molecular diagnostics by combining isothermal nucleic acid amplification with innovative photonic detection techniques. The project will focus on modeling and optimizing polymer based optical resonators to improve sensitivity and thermal stability during amplification processes. By meeting the WHO ASSURED criteria (Affordable, Sensitive, Specific, User-friendly, Rapid and Robust, Equipment-free, and Deliverable to end-users), the goal is to develop cost-effective, integrated diagnostic sensors that enable DNA detection for remote pathogen identification, suitable for use in underserved areas.
