Genesis Environmental Sciences Ltd. (GESL) has developed the patent pending RiverTraps™ (RT-RTX) selective fishing systems and demonstrated their capability as road/river portable, reconfigurable, scalable, removable pound net systems. The RT-RTX systems have operated with no identifiable negative impact on fish captured in a contained waterway. This capability is perfectly suited for deployment in Alberta irrigation canals, ponds and lakes and is proposed for use in the selective capture of Prussian Carp while releasing desirable native species unharmed. GESL will work with local groups on a joint capture program to assess catch per unit effort efficiency (CPUE) and a population suppression quotient (PSQ).
