Super resolution low-cost thermal image as part of the fall detection of elderly people

This project concerns a technological solution for the home support of elderly people. The objectives of this device are the detection and prediction of falls of the elderly. For this, a solution based on thermal cameras is envisaged. This technological choice is motivated by the fact that it is a totally passive solution, that thermal thermal imaging cameras do not allow people to be recognized and therefore respect their private lives and that thermal input cameras are very low cost . On the other hand, the major disadvantage of these low cost thermal cameras is their very low resolution. The image has a size of 80×60 pixels (4800 pixels to compare with the 15 mega pixels of the current smartphones). However, this size is insufficient to extract the information needed to predict falls. TO BE CONT’D
