The research project proposed will be used to improve the financial feasibility of an urban agricultural greenhouse. The first objective of this project is to create a business model that will supplement revenue to a greenhouse by offering mental health services. The second objective of this project is to test and assess the performance of a smart climate control system prototype that fuses climate sensor data with infra-red imagery of crops. By assessing the performance of this prototype, future adoption of integrated automated climate control systems will be possible to further minimize operational costs of a greenhouse and improve crop quality and yield. Indoor agriculture and mental health are two sectors in industry that are expected to grow in demand over the next decade. By participating in this program the entrepreneur will benefit North Forge by bringing a new business concept to market adoption in North America and further supporting research and development in new indoor agricultural technologies.
