The role of data intelligence software in assessing materiality: what is the potential and their limits?

This research project aims to determine how small and medium-sized businesses can use data intelligence software to improve reporting on their environmental footprint. The number of companies choosing to transparently report on their entire environmental and societal impacts have been increasing, including smaller businesses. As larger companies and corporates have been experimenting on the best methods and practices to report their impacts using data intelligence software to inform their stakeholders like the public and government, the smaller businesses usually face challenges in knowing the demands of their stakeholders. This study would closely examine the role played by data intelligence software for SMEs in improving their outreach to their stakeholders. This would ensure enhanced understanding between them and efficiently achieve social and environmental sustainability.
