Hardware/Software Codesign Methodology for High Performance On-Board Processing applied on the Artificial Intelligence of Space

The result of this project (which will be demonstrated by a use case) can make health equipments to be used outside of hospitals. This is achieved by reducing the computation cost of running Deep Learning models by 3rd party tools and use our accelerator solution to run the size reduced and optimized model. This greatly helps to lower the barrier for using costly equipments and make them more affordable and reachable to people in need of these equipments.

Business Strategy Internship – Predict Technologies

Predict is currently working on initiating digital health pilots, RePill and HotDoc, that are slated for Fall 2020. Our first project codenamed RePill, a digital pharmacy marketplace to improve patient choice and prescription adherence, is under development. RePill aligns the most up-to-date pharmacological practice standards and PHIPA-compliant digital health regulations. The current prototype is designed to accurately transcribe physical prescription records and connect patients to subscribing pharmacies and physicians for scheduling of convenient pick-up and delivery services. Our most recent pilot, EduSafe, is being developed to support essential service institutions screen for CoVID-19 symptoms via mobile or web-based applications for tiered data access. Our prototype features an educational institution model that can seamlessly track administrators, educators, students, and family members with real-time data visualization and instant reporting / messaging features.

Comparing Standard and Extreme VaR Models During Highly Volatile Periods

A bank’s Value at Risk (VaR) determines the amount of capital that it must set aside to satisfy bank regulations. VaR relates to the size of potential trading losses; the greater the VaR, the greater a trading loss the bank could suffer and consequently the more capital it must set aside. This reduces the probability of default, but it also reduces the potential scope of derivative trading operations, reducing potential profits. VaR is obtained from a mathematical model for the joint evolution of all risk factors influencing the value of the bank’s trading portfolio. Unfortunately, in periods of market stress of the type experienced recently, VaR numbers produced by conventional models are unreliable. However, an alternative modeling approach based on Extreme Value Theory (EVT) has recently shown promise. This project will research the practical application of this methodology to a range of trading portfolios. The project will evaluate the performance…TOBECONT’D
