Synthesise and Characterization of MXene-polymer beads for water purification: effect of size and chemical composition
this research project aims to synthesize micro(aero)gel based composite beads with different compositions: Ti3C2Tx/Acrylic acid (AA), or Acrylamide Aam), or Sodium Alginate (SA) structures and morphologies such as composite and core-shell, using microfluidic droplet generation process for water purification. We will conduct a comprehensive study to investigate the effect of particle size, morphology (core-shell versus plain composite), polymeric types (e.g., AA, Aam, SA), MXene mass ratios on triggered performance of beads on bacteria contaminated water sources and their regeneration feasibility. It is expected to achieve better efficiency compared to bare polymer beads. Also, it is expected that smaller particles have better performance.
