Fully Automated Thyroid Nodule Detection and Classification Using Machine Learning and Ultrasound Imaging

The thyroid glands are located at the front of the neck. The thyroid glands tend to develop small lumps, and it is very common in adults. Most of the lumps are not harmful to humans. However, some of these lumps could be cancerous. Therefore, it is essential to detect the lumps that are cancerous correctly. One approach to identifying the lumps is to use ultrasound imaging which allows for detecting lumps that are smaller than 1 cm. Three internship programmers working with Medo Dx will develop a new approach to detect the lumps from ultrasound imaging using artificial intelligence. The computer program will then prepare a report to the doctors that will allow for better management of the lumps in the thyroid glands. This will reduce the healthcare cost on unnecessary biopsies and reduce patient anxiety. TO BE CONT”D
