RAFT data science project for data analysis and visualization along with database upkeep

There are many process and raw materials distinctions between brewing beer at large, multinational scales and at small, regional craft scales. However, the longstanding dominance of large industry players means most available data on brewing are derived from studies conducted at large scales. There is much yet to understand about quality and efficiency outcomes of brewing at a small scale.
Raft Brew Labs is positioned as the analytical lab for many craft breweries across Western Canada, providing it a unique line of sight on manufacturing processes leading to positive or negative quality and efficiency outcomes in these facilities. The company constructed a database through 2020-2021 to integrate client data both for the longterm monitoring of single facilities and for integrating data from multiple facilities. These approaches present a competitive advantage for Raft clients in monitoring and industry benchmarking.
As a case study, we aim to combine process data with analytical and quality outcomes for a single brewery to yield key insights into the factors that matter for small breweries, with the potential to disseminate new and improved practices to similarly sized facilities.
