The Relationship between Psychophysiological Measures of Emotion and Applied Effort

Physical inactivity is a major public health concern. While this is a multifaceted issue, one approach to increase interest and engagement in exercise is to make it more immersive. Previous research has shown that emotionally
driven content can increase the overall experience as well as an individual’s performance during exercise. However, the relationship between emotionally driven content and its effects on applied effort during exercise is
not well understood. Therefore, the goal of this internship is to measure and model the response to emotionally driven content during exercise. By furthering our understanding of how people respond to emotionally driven
