Vector Medical Internship

Since its’ inception, Vector Medical has been a leader in developing innovative strategies for the IME industry. Our most notable differentiator has been our ability to conduct our assessments via telemedicine across Canada.

The COVID-19 crisis has created a perfect storm in the IME industry. Worker requests for medical leave (i.e. disability claims) have spiked significantly while at the same time, COVID-19 innovations in telemedicine have essentially made in-person IMEs less attractive.

This presents an incredible business opportunity for Vector Medical, as the appetite for telemedicine IMEs is now greater than it has ever been.

There has also been a significant increase in the proportion of disability claims linked to addictions and mental health since the pandemic started. The IME / insurance industry has responded to this crisis by creating various products and services to assist employers in getting people back to work quickly and safely.

We are now far enough into the pandemic that there is sufficient data to conduct a comprehensive market analysis that will uncover the viability and success of these various initiatives and services.
