Cultivating Financial Literacy & Mentorship for Indigenous Communities – IndigenousTech.ai – May 5-Aug 29

Since our company was founded, IndigenousTech.ai Corporation (IndigenousTech.ai) has focused on improving the quality of life for Indigenous peoples living on reserve.
To advance economic development, self-determination, and reconciliation of Indigenous communities in Canada, our company offers financial literacy training, housing reviews, credit projects, implementations of new technologies for remote communities, professional skills, and mentorship programs. IndigenousTech.ai has established a wide network and trust with over forty (40+) Indigenous communities nationwide and continues to grow our footprint.

IndigenousTech.ai is one of the corporations inside of the Forrest Green Group of Companies. All Forrest Green corporations perform web development, solution development, project management, and professional services in the technology industry. IndigenousTech.ai is certified in Ontario and is Canada’s first Indigenous-owned consumer credit reporting agency.
IndigenousTech.ai is proud to continue rolling out e-learning platforms focusing on Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship fundamentals. We have already accounted for over 500 course participants and aim to increase the curriculum to new scopes. Additionally, our company offers working experience with companies in the telehealth, climate change and academic sectors.
The Summer Internship for 2025 will specifically involve hiring one Indigenous intern (facilitator) for the summer to train them on project management, event planning, customer service, information security, and further training in financial literacy and technology certification programs that will then deploy to between 20 and 30 Indigenous high school students (for July and August) across the country.
Companies funding our internship recognize that a career in IT would provide a different opportunity to Indigenous youths from their typical internships (welding, construction, serving, etc.). This is significant for interns in remote Canada, where the cost of living is higher than in the rest of the country. A career in this industry is also relevant since the market is moving rapidly into a digitalized world.

2025 Summer Internship

In my role as a summer growth strategy intern, I will be directly assisting the CEO and co-founder of the firm in her duties. Proxure is currently in the process of raising their pre-seed funding round; I will be working to enhance and simplify this process to ensure all goals are met in a timely manner. Following the funding, Proxure will be heavily focused on the sales and marketing of their professional services data software. I will be directly involved in this process and work with management to conduct the allocation of capital resources. Given that Proxure is still in the early stages of its development, the specific tasks I will complete may vary widely. I could be working on marketing strategies, obtaining client leads, conducting essential research, or any number of alternative assignments. Proxure will benefit from my participation given my experience in the startup space and the creative, solution-oriented mindset that I bring to the table. The firm is in a critical growth stage where rapid development and client acquisition is necessary to ensure future prosperity. I aim to utilize my skills and expertise to assist the founding team throughout this phase and accelerate their progress in bringing an ingenious AI-powered software to market.

Assessment of the neuroprotective effects of a novel natural product derived formulation in a rodent model of Parkinson’s disease

A number of natural products including ginseng, green tea catechins and the essential fatty acids DHA and EPA display neurosupportive and neuroprotective qualities. These bioactive compounds may be useful in preventing various forms of neuronal cell loss, including the degeneration observed in Parkinson’s disease. The industry partner, Neurodyn Life Sciences Inc., has developed a proprietary natural product derived formulation of these bioactives and is seeking to continue the pre-clinical study of the formulation, with the intent of progressing to clinical trials in human subjects with early stage Parkinson’s disease
