Vancouver, BC — Mitacs, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to innovation, warmly welcomes Carol Anne Hilton to its Board of Directors. Mitacs’s Board of Directors oversees its organizational mandate in fostering innovation and growth through partnerships with Canadian post-secondary institutions and companies.
Hilton is the CEO and Founder of Indigenomics Institute, an Indigenous economic advisory platform that works with Indigenous communities, governments, and the private sector to strengthen Indigenous economic capacity and achieve Indigenous community economic objectives. She is of Nuu chah nulth descent from the Hesquiaht Nation on Vancouver Island and a recognized First Nations business leader and advisor with an international master’s degree in Business Management from the University of Hertfordshire, England.
Hilton previously served on the Advisory Council on Economic Growth, which provided recommendations to the federal finance minister. She has also served on the BC Emerging Economy Taskforce and the BC Indigenous Business and Investment Council. In addition to her appointment with Mitacs, Hilton currently serves as a director on the Board of Trustees of the McGill University Institute for the Study of Canada and the board of Canada’s Digital Technology Supercluster.
Her dynamic approach to work has won her many accolades including the Outstanding Business Achievement Award from the BC Achievement Foundation and, most recently, the Excellence in Aboriginal Relations Award from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. Carol Anne is the author of Indigenomics: Taking a Seat at the Economic Table, a book about emerging Indigenous economic strength.
