He has supervised numerous students and postdocs, including 20 at the PhD level and has delivered over 300 lectures around the world. Adem was appointed as CEO and Scientific Director of Mitacs in 2015. Previously he was Director of the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) from 2008 to 2015.

Dr. Alejandro Adem, CEO and Scientific Director, Mitacs

“It is an honour to be awarded the 2015 CMS Jeffery–Williams Prize. I have always been fascinated by the deep mathematics and the beauty associated to symmetry groups that manifest themselves across a variety of scientific disciplines. I look forward to continuing to inspire young mathematicians — and all researchers — through my role at Mitacs.”
