Mitacs–Korea Aerospace University agreement strengthens university research collaborations between South Korea and Canada

First agreement between Mitacs and Korea Aerospace University will bring interns to Canada

Vancouver, BC — Mitacs and the Korea Aerospace University (KAU) signed a five-year agreement today to create opportunities for South Korean undergraduates to undertake advanced research projects in Canada. This first agreement between Mitacs and KAU will strengthen international research collaborations between higher education institutions in the two countries.

This agreement represents some of the first Mitacs Globalink Research Internship opportunities with South Korea.

The partnership will help recruit high-calibre senior undergraduate students to Canadian academic institutions through a new five-year Globalink Research Internship agreement. Participants from South Korea will travel to Canada starting in 2023. Students will spend 12 weeks (between May and October) in Canada on a research project in their area of interest, under the supervision of a professor.

Students will also have opportunities to take part in professional training in areas such as project management and entrepreneurship; interact with companies of interest; and enjoy cultural, social, and recreational experiences in Canada.

Details about the application process for students interested in the Mitacs-KAU collaboration will be released soon. More information about the Globalink Research Internship can be found on the program’s page. If you have immediate questions, please reach out to helpdesk@mitacs.ca.
