New Mitacs-Munich Quantum Valley collaboration supports global talent networks

Toronto, Canada – Mitacs and Munich Quantum Valley gGmbH, a leading German initiative advancing quantum science and technology in Bavaria, are partnering to promote quantum research and talent development. The agreement signals the organizations’ shared commitment to innovation in a mutually strategic sector, while strengthening international collaboration between Canada and Germany.

Over the next two years, this cooperation will enable Mitacs and MQV gGmbH to promote joint research collaborations and workforce development in the quantum sector, while enhancing the mobility of students and researchers through funding programs. It will also support joint partnerships with academic institutions to advance the countries’ respective innovation goals, strengthen global networks, and encourage future collaborations in quantum technologies at Canadian and Bavarian postsecondary institutions.

With a focus on research, talent, and commercialization, the Mitacs- MQV gGmbH partnership advances Canada’s National Quantum Strategy while uniting efforts to drive quantum innovation. The Canadian federal budget commits $334.3 million over five years to accelerate the adoption of these technologies across sectors.

Founded in 2022, Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) advances research into quantum science and technology in Bavaria, with a primary focus on developing, operating and giving access to competitive quantum computers.
