Ontario budget announces exciting new investment in talent and innovation

Toronto, ON – Mitacs welcomes the 2023 Ontario budget which includes $32.4 million over three years in new funding to power innovation and productivity – key drivers of economic growth. This investment will respond to the exceptional demand from Ontario businesses by giving them access to the highly skilled talent they need to succeed.

Mitacs is proud to continue to partner with the Government of Ontario to support business innovation in priority sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare and critical minerals. This new funding will support the creation of 6,500 innovation internships for students, postdocs, and recent graduates who make up the skilled labour force and employers of tomorrow.

We look forward to working closely with the government to ensure that demand for talent in these and other emerging sectors continues to be met to further position Ontario businesses and students for success.
