The AI-SCOUT project focuses on improving post-treatment care for patients who have completed radiation therapy. By combining clinical, socio-demographic, and non-medical data, AI-SCOUT will use artificial intelligence to identify patients at higher risk of developing radiation related complications. This insight is intended to help teams provide proactive, personalized follow-up, reduce emergency visits, and improve recovery outcomes—especially for patients in rural or remote communities who travel long distances for care. Students will participate in helping the team in recruiting patients participants, deploy the Zamplo web app, formulate strategies to intake and analyze patient data derived from Zamplo into the University Health Network (UHN). Students will also participate in the development of other AI tools within the UHN to improve operational efficiency and patient communication.
