This research champions anti-racist thinking around housing in the city of Ottawa. This project considers the possibility of antiracist cities by examining how racial inequities are produced through housing, how displacement occurs in the city of Ottawa, and how grassroots advocacy for secure, affordable housing may facilitate spatial and racial justice. This research will contribute to an understanding of how racism is experienced through urban space, and how affordable, decommodified housing development can be a crucial step in the building of anti-racist cities.
