On Cue Performance Hub (OCPH) emerged in 2019 as a grassroots initiative to address challenges facing Regina artists trying to earn a living through their creative practice — even before COVID emerged. During the pandemic, retention of artists and earning a living wage in the performing arts has transitioned from a problem to a crisis. This cluster of internships strives to address this situation by setting up a series of programs, over the course of 10 – months aimed at providing professional training to the performing arts community in Regina in the form of workshops, internships and mentorships. In addition, interns will be brought on board the productions in our upcoming 2022/ 23 season to gain valuable experience through experiential learning opportunities, working with supervisors and well as tapping into the resources of On Cue’s senior participating arts companies, who will provide expertise in appropriate areas of production. At the same time, OCPH benefits by being able to present a season of creative work to Regina audiences.
