Canadian Medtech Startup (SixthSense Labs): Market Research and Pricing Strategy for Gait-Speed Technology

This project will support SixthSense Labs, a Canadian medtech startup, in bringing its radar-based gait speed tool from a proven prototype to real-world use across Canada. The tool can measure gait speed in under six seconds without wearables or cameras and gives an immediate report, which could help identify mobility decline and fall risk earlier in older adults. A McMaster University supervised business development intern will work with SixthSense co-founders to research the best healthcare and community care markets to enter, compare competitors and alternatives, explore pricing, and test business model choices to guide pilot planning and funding. The expected benefit to the partner organization is a clearer, evidence-informed commercialization plan that reduces uncertainty, strengthens partnerships and go-to-market decisions, and improves the company’s ability to scale adoption of its technology in Canadian care settings.
