Community Engagement Assistant at Artbeat Studio

Artbeat Studio strives to create a safe space for community to drop in and create art. Particularly, their goal is to reach those who require more support for their mental health, provide community for those individuals, and create meaningful connections to empower them to take steps in their mental health journey. Artbeat Studio facilitates many events, and workshops to diversify the art practices they are sharing, and reach more of the community. The main purpose of my role would be to interact with participants in the studio, ensure safety, facilitate connection, and assist in any way the studio requires. Further, I would organize outdoor art-making events to bring the community together, advertise these events, enrich already existing programming, and bring new experiences and opportunities to the community, and organization. I would also be in charge of facilitating a community art show at the end of the term, to showcase and celebrate the communities creations. These efforts would strengthen the already existing programming at Artbeat Studio, while revitalizing the community outreach, providing more people safe spaces and supports through art making.
