Connections Community Services Society

Connections Community Services Society (CCSS) faces the critical challenge of securing sustainable funding to support its wide range of community-focused programs for children, youth, and families. Founded in 1974, CCSS has been a cornerstone of the Richmond community, providing essential services that promote growth, resilience, and well-being. However, like many non-profits, it operates in an increasingly competitive environment where donor engagement and funding opportunities are limited and fiercely contested. To address this, the organization needs to modernize and strengthen its business development strategies, moving beyond day-to-day operations to adopt more innovative approaches. This project will involve conducting comprehensive market research to identify emerging funding trends, developing compelling content to communicate the organization’s impact, and utilizing data-driven insights to refine outreach efforts. By focusing on brand visibility and strategic donor acquisition, CCSS can enhance its value proposition and attract a broader base of supporters. Solving this challenge requires expertise in market analysis, strategic planning, data interpretation, and persuasive communication. The intern’s contributions will be vital in creating sustainable business development frameworks, ultimately helping CCSS expand its reach and better serve the diverse needs of its community.
