Developing a Mental Health Access Prioritization Algorithm as an API Service

Mental illness is considered one of the most serious conditions that one can develop. If left untreated, it could result in worsening the condition of the patient and increase the difficulty of treatment. From a patient’s perspective, most of the time even if they suffer with severe and debilitating symptoms, there’s still a prolonged wait time to secure an appointment for getting the right treatment. The aim of the project is to estimate the priority for consulting patient based on the severity of their symptoms. The intention is to develop algorithms that can determine the severity of a patient’s condition prior to seeing clinicians based on their screening responses. We aim to minimize the waiting time for patients who require urgent intervention.
