Development of acquisition and control interface for novel deployable optics-enabled hyperspectral imager for satellite based remote sensing

Remote sensing of Earth using hyperspectral imaging satellites has become an area of key interest for civilian end-use applications in areas like agriculture, forestry management, flood risk assessment, minerology, and environmental monitoring. The aim of this project is to research and develop a hyperspectral camera payload for a CubeSat constellation. The success of this project and subsequent satellite deployments will bring a new generation of data-driven solutions to Canada’s agricultural industry with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, managing soil health, improving carbon sequestration, reducing water usage, and increasing agricultural yield.
