In the short term (12-18 months) the project will contribute to the successful recovery of the Toronto Fringe and the theatre industry, through planning, audience research, events, and digital transformation planning. Over the long term, with a lens of roughly 10 years, the contributions of this project will aim to protect the organization and the arts and cultural sector in Canada from the devastation it has encountered due to COVID, in the future. The development of hybrid solutions that take into account the desires of audience members, customers or clients, as they pertain to the theatre industry, as well as the changing behaviours of those people with the emergence of new personal technologies, will contribute to the evolution of how the public engages with the arts and cultural sector, and subsequently, the financial stability of that industry and its members.
