Efficient Parsing Technique for Console Logs

Software systems produce large amount of logs of different types. Event logs and system traces have been the focus of many research for their information content and often machine friendly format; but another type of logs often overlooked are console logs. Parsing console logs presents two main challenges: their formatting is inconsistent and they contains large amount of noise. We propose to research efficient and practical techniques to tackle these challenges.
