The objective for this research project is to support the future international success of the Canadian
racialized creatives in the screen industry. There is a lack of available research on content production
specifically targeting global audiences, and therefore there are significant gaps for development,
promotion and distribution of Canadian screen content that could be filled by the unique creative
storytelling of racialized content creatives in Canada. Through research of consumer preferences and
market intelligence RESO is setting out to elevate and develop targeted efforts for racialized Canadian
screen content producers, sales agents and distributors to boost global audiences’ engagement with
Canadian film, television and streaming content.
This research is essential to empower, inform, and grow the networks for racialized content creators.
